THE Philippine Philatelic Federation and the Philippine Postal Corp. in cooperation with various stamp clubs all over the country would like to invite everyone to a national stamp competition and exhibition entitled Philpex 2012. This will happen from January 24 to February 3 at the Philippine Postal Corp. main lobby.Philpex 2012 will feature past winning stamp entries from the International Stamp Exhibition, organized by the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP). On the other hand, the Federation Internationale de Philatelie (FIP) will stage a national competition on stamp collection. The winners of this event will represent the country in various international stamp competitions this year and for 2013.Aptly, the theme for this year’s event is “Knowledge and Fun through Stamp Collecting”, and as such, it hopes to create awareness among the general public how interesting it is to collect stamps and how it can enrich their knowledge through learning about their country, history, culture, arts, heritage, nature, and industries, among others.The exhibit is open to the public.
