This is Jose Rizal’s modest coverpage for the constitution of the first Filipino civic organization of its kind, the La Liga Filipina, dated 1892. Soon after its establishment, the Liga was disbanded after Rizal was arrested and exiled to Dapitan. Later on, the defunct group birthed another patriotic organization, the Katipunan, led by a former Liga member, Andres Bonifacio. (Taken with Instagram)
